Volunteer Ian at the civic Honour Board unveiling

Last week our super volunteer Ian was invited by Rt. Hon. Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh to the city chambers to represent LifeCare and see the unveiling of a new civic Honour Board.

The board records all current and future winners of the Queen’s/King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest civic honour for volunteer-led groups in the UK. LifeCare was awarded the Queen’s Award back in 2015, the certificate sits proudly in our hub in Stockbridge.

Ian has been volunteering with LifeCare for over 6 years!”So nice to be there at the unveiling of the KVAS Honour Board representing LifeCare. A pleasure to meet the Lord Lieutenant (Lord Provost) Robert Aldridge, and the Deputy Lieutenant, LifeCares very own Trustee Elaine Aitken. Also, so good to meet the other volunteers from the other charities who were there, such an interesting group of people, who do such wonderful work.”
