Our day clubs

Our Day Clubs are here to help you or your loved one by bringing people together to keep active and stay connected.
Join us at one of our day clubs and enjoy all sorts of activities, entertainment and trips out and about in Edinburgh.

What happens at the clubs?

The clubs do all sorts of activities. From keeping minds active with games and quizzes, getting creative with crafts and art, staying active with exercise classes and games, enjoying music with interactive musical sessions and performances, and getting out and about with trips all over Edinburgh.

The staff and volunteers also work to help our clients continue with hobbies they enjoy, be that baking cakes or playing a game of scrabble.

How does it work?

If you live locally to our club we will pick you up by minibus between 9.15am and 10.15am and drop you home between 3pm and 4pm. If you’re outside the area you can of course make your own way to join us at the club.

We start off the day with tea and toast, have a hot lunch and finish the day with tea and biscuits (or, if the weather demands it, an ice cream!)

All of our clubs are run by registered care workers and have a high staff to client ratio, so we can ensure that all our clients get the care and support they need throughout the day. At our last inspection all of our Day Clubs received an ‘Excellent’ rating  – the highest possible grade- from the Care Inspectorate.

How to get a place

Join us privately

We provide places that are arranged on a private basis for anyone aged 50 and over. Places are easily accessed. No referral is necessary just contact us direct.

Access a subsidised place

Subsidised places are available to anyone aged 65 and over. While a significant proportion of the cost of the service is subsidised by the City of Edinburgh Council, you would pay a monthly mandatory contribution, set by the City of Edinburgh Council, which is reviewed annually. Get in touch with Social Care Direct on 0131 200 2324 or ask a health or social care professional to refer you.
