Every penny we raise goes towards giving an older person extra years of care and support. Extra years of independence, friendship and fulfilment. We call this Extra Years of Zest. And we can only provide it thanks to people like you.
Over the years people have done all sorts to raise money for LifeCare. From taking part in marathons and abseiling off bridges, to creating their own fundraising challenges and supporting LifeCare’s events.
Our corporate partners provide a huge amount of support to our work through doing fundraising events, donating their time and skills, and funding special projects.
We could not do what we do without all the wonderful volunteers who support us by giving their time and their skills. There are loads of ways to get involved, from supporting our clients in our café, clubs or out in the community, to helping run fundraising and community events.
Our community café – CaféLife – and the LifeCare Centre in Stockbridge are social enterprises. By eating at the café, hiring a room, or attending a class or event at the centre – you support our work.
We have loved being involved in all sorts of collaborative projects, from creating pen pals with The Super Power Agency, to getting involved with robotics research with PhD students from Heriot Watt University, to giving handmade Christmas cards to our clients from children in the local community.
We recently received an incredible grant of £45,000 through the Queensberry House Trust 25th Anniversary Grants Programme. This generous award helped us to provide regular and reliable community support for those on low incomes.
Thanks to a grant of £100,000 from The Bank of Scotland Foundation we could bring in new team members to help fulfil our unprecedently high waiting lists post-covid making a life-changing difference to hundreds of local older people.
