Every penny we raise goes towards giving an older person extra years of care and support. Extra years of independence, friendship and fulfilment. We call this Extra Years of Zest. And we can only provide it thanks to people like you.
Over the years people have done all sorts to raise money for LifeCare. From taking part in marathons and abseiling off bridges, to creating their own fundraising challenges and supporting LifeCare’s events.
Our corporate partners provide a huge amount of support to our work through doing fundraising events, donating their time and skills, and funding special projects.
We could not do what we do without all the wonderful volunteers who support us by giving their time and their skills. There are loads of ways to get involved, from supporting our clients in our café, clubs or out in the community, to helping run fundraising and community events.
Our community café – Café Life – and the LifeCare Centre in Stockbridge are social enterprises. By eating at the café, hiring a room, or attending a class or event at the centre – you support our work.
We have loved being involved in all sorts of collaborative projects, from creating pen pals with The Super Power Agency, to getting involved with robotics research with PhD students from Heriot Watt University, to giving handmade Christmas cards to our clients from children in the local community.

Thanks to the generous support provided by Barclays Covid-19 UK 100×100 Community Relief Programme we launched a new Meals on Wheels service in Autumn 2020. We have delivered over 5,000 meals so far, including Turkey with all the trimmings for Christmas, to over 65s in need in North Edinburgh.
Thanks to Port of Leith Housing Association we were able to bust some of the Lockdown boredom by delivering 135 activity packs to clients in North Edinburgh.
