What a delightful afternoon! Our free community BBQ was a hit-everybody enjoyed the sunshine, delicious BBQ food cooked by Chef Tony and the team, winning tombola prizes and painting pottery all added to the fun. We all enjoyed entertainment by
Hopscotch Magic
too!
Our Chef Tony and his team cooked up a delicious BBQ, serving tasty burgers, hot dogs and vegetarian burgers. They served over 200 burgers and hot dogs to the community!
There was some cracking prizes to be won at our Tombola, including Amazon Kindles, golf, toiletry sets, purses and more! All items had been kindly donated to us. Money raised at our tombola stall will go towards more events and initiatives that benefit the local community and local older people.
We also had a bake sale, offering tempting treats baked by our staff members! They were indeed delicious, with none left at the end of the day!
Everybody was entertained by Hopscotch the Magician, he wowed everybody with his magic tricks and balloon art! Children loved taking away balloons with them, we saw many balloon swords, flowers and animals!
We also provided pottery painting (supplied by Doodles Ceramics in Marchmont). Kids and adults alike had a blast painting beautiful pieces of pottery! We will take them back to Doodles to be fired in the kiln, anyone who painted an item will be notified when they are ready to collect. We love all the items painted!
We would also like to thank the Coop on Frederick Street, they very kindly donated items towards our BBQ. Supplying all the essential condiments for our delicious burgers and hot dogs: Mustard and ketchup. They also supplied refreshing juice drinks, which were needed in the scorching sun, as well as tasty crisps to snack on.
A big thank you to everybody who donated-your support means we can continue to give back to our wonderful community. If you didn’t get the chance to on the day, it’s not too late to donate,
