LifeCare awarded funding for vital carer support

LifeCare has been awarded £4,800 to provide vital remote support for carers.   Funded by Foundation Scotland from the Queensberry Trust this terrific award will enable LifeCare to pilot a dedicated service ‘LifeCare for Carers’.

This much-needed support will benefit around 60 local unpaid carers who look after a loved one with dementia. Being a carer to a person with dementia has always involved challenging, stressful and difficult moments but the crisis has elevated this to a whole new level. Respite opportunities have been reduced or removed completely, family and friends can no longer come-in and levels of anxiety are at an all-time high.

Setting up support dedicated to supporting these demanding situations will help a carer to feel supported, valued and understood in a compassionate and impartial manner.

Thank you to everyone involved and to Foundation Scotland and the Queensberry Trust for making it possible.
