Thank you to the National Lottery Community Fund

At LifeCare we’ve experienced a 67% increase in referrals from local people living on a low income through the cost of living crisis, and we know that over 34% of the people we reach could not afford to pay for our vital Meals on Wheels service if we charged; they would go without a hot meal if we did not offer for free. As a registered charity, none of our life-changing services are fully-funded and we rely on donations to reach those most vulnerable.

So, we are extremely grateful to The National Lottery  Community Fund for supporting LifeCare with over £60,000 towards our vital cost of living activities.  Thanks to this funding we have been enabled to continue to offer our free Meals on Wheels, our Saturday Socials activities, Cost of Living workshops and reach out amongst our communities to recruit fantastic volunteers who help us deliver our essential support.

We were delighted to have a visit from Beatrice Thirkettle, Funding Officer at The National Lottery Community Fund in Scotland who had the chance to meet with our Community Hub Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator to learn more about the activities in person.

A huge thank you to everyone that plays the National Lottery!
