LifeCare commended in Scottish Parliament

LifeCare’s work supporting older people and unpaid carers across Edinburgh through our Winter Warmer appeal has been recognised in a Scottish Parliament Motion.

Motions are a way for MSPs to raise awareness of an issue or recognise a group, and other MSPs can choose to support it.

Lodged by Jeremy Balfour MSP, the motion “commends LifeCare” for being a “vital lifeline” during the winter months and beyond. It also acknowledges how difficult this time of year can be for older people, made even worse by the cost-of-living crisis and soaring food and fuel prices.

We’re delighted to see the motion gather support from a growing number of MSPs, and are calling on people to reach out to their local MSP to encourage them to get behind it. More MSP support means more awareness of LifeCare, our Winter Warmer Appeal and most importantly of the issues affecting older people and unpaid carers this winter.
