Anyone with dementia, aged 50 plus.
We’re also a lifeline for loved ones too. Like carer Irenie, who is able to have a well-earned break, safe in the knowledge her husband Tom is in the best possible hands.
There are lots of fun activities to interest everyone: like singing, baking, balloon badminton and tai chi are just a few of the things our members love. That, after all, is what extra years of zest is all about; doing things you can still enjoy, however big or small.
You’ll begin your day having toast, tea and a good old blether with staff and fellow members around our cosy kitchen table.
Two tasty and nutritious homemade courses that you can choose on arrival.
It is was such a relief to find a service where such specialist care and dedication are rolled into one. Such a happy place to visit. We are delighted and so is mum.
Before you leave, there’s tea and biscuits or, when the weather merits it, Flake 99’s all round.
We organise regular trips for our club members – our youngest staff member, Steven’s, favourite was a drive around the old dance hall haunts, when he got to hear our club members tales.
We can escort you by mini bus, if you live in our catchment of EH3/EH4/EH5. We’ll collect you from your home between 9.15am and 10.15am and take you back between 3pm and 4pm. If you live outside our catchment, please make your own travel arrangements.
We care for only 12 members – a higher than usual staff to member ratio (1:3). So you’ll get far more individual attention.
We provide places that are arranged on a private basis for anyone aged 50 plus. Places are easily accessed. No referral is necessary.
Or you may wish to access this service using Self Directed Support (SDS), if you are in receipt of Direct Payments.
Places are available to anyone aged 65 plus. While a significant proportion of the cost of the service is subsidised by the City of Edinburgh Council, you would pay a monthly mandatory contribution, set by the City of Edinburgh Council, which is reviewed annually.
We are now accepting self referrals. Please use this form to contact us directly to make a referral. You can do this if you are a carer, or individual wishing to join. Or it can be arranged by social services, health professionals or families on your behalf.
