Our Companion Care Services, Bring New Friends And The Freedom To Keep Enjoying Life At Home

If you’re living with dementia, or if you need a bit of help with chores, appointments or days out, LifeCare’s companion care service Outreach makes all the difference in the world.

Across our services, our trained carers are on hand with all the practical, everyday help you need. But just as important is the companionship they bring. Our carers know the value of a chat, a visit to a special place or – at our Dean Club – enjoying regular company and activities.

Whichever companion care services are the ideal match for you, we’ll get to know you well, help you keep up your old hobbies and interests – and maybe even discover some new ones together.

You’re In Great Company With LifeCare’s Companion Care Services

Companion care is a huge part of LifeCare’s services for older people, and for those living with dementia. On offer are lots of different services, each one helping you to keep your independence and live well at home.

Outreach – The Friendly Companion Care Service Supporting You In And Out Of Home

At home, and out and about, our Outreach service pairs you with a friendly, fully trained carer who’ll take time to get to know you. We can help you with personal care, medication and keeping appointments.

Your Outreach friend can also make sure you don’t miss out on doing the things that make you who you are. That could be a stroll on the shore, a museum visit or time spent looking through a photo album. You tell us and we’ll make it happen. Outreach is perfect for times when family and friends aren’t available or are enjoying a well-deserved break.

Good Morning

Start the day with a smile. Good Morning is our personal care and wake-up service. We’ll help you get up, washed and dressed and make sure you have the right medication. If you’d like us to, we’ll stay for breakfast and a chinwag too.

Good Evening

When it’s time for bed we’ll be there with our Good Evening service. We’ll help with personal care and any medication you need. We’d love to stay for a chat too, before helping you settle in for a good night’s rest.

Great Break for Carers

We know that relations and friends are often so busy caring that they don’t get to look after themselves. But to keep on providing great care, it’s important they enjoy regular breaks. Our Great Break for Carers service starts from just two hours and can last as long as you need. We can look after your loved one at home, or we can take them out for a break too.

Good Company

A hugely popular service, Good Company is there for companionship and special moments. Whatever you fancy – a beach trip, a gallery visit, a stroll around the shops or maybe just a sit-down and a coffee – we make sure your carer genuinely shares your interests.

The Good Visitor

For friends and family in hospitals or care homes, a visitor brightens up a day like nothing else. At times when you can’t make it out to call in on a loved one, our Good Visitor service saves the day. One of our team can pop in on your behalf, and as we’re fully qualified, we can even treat your friend or relative to a walk or a trip to a special place.

Strong on companionship. Strong on care.

As Outreach provides personal, one-to-one care, it’s good to know that our service has received a Grade 4 from the Care Inspectorate. All of our team are also trained to deal with emergency situations.

When Outreach’s Companion Care Happens

Outreach runs every day of the week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. But if you need us beyond 8:00 p.m. we’ll arrange this.

What It Costs And How You Pay

The great news is that no referral is necessary for any Outreach service. Arranging a service is easy, and it can begin almost immediately. You can pay for Outreach on a private basis or by using your Direct Payment from the City of Edinburgh Council.

Help at Home – A Friendly Hand From A Friendly Face
