Who volunteers with LifeCare?
We are lucky to have volunteers join us from many different walks of life. Our volunteers get involved in various aspects of the charity and bring with them experience, knowledge, laughter and skills. We are proud of all the hard work that our volunteers do for our charity.
How much time do I need to devote to volunteering?
We understand your time is precious.Whatever you can give,we appreciate. However, it’s always best that you can commit to an agreed amount of time for at least a couple of months, if you can.
Do I get my expenses paid?
We can pay for reasonable travel expenses and you will also receive lunch.
Will I have to undertake a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme check?
It will depend on what type of role you are applying for, whether a PVG check and or/police check are required.
What do I need to volunteer?
Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Can I gain a qualification or an award?
Will I receive training in my volunteer role?
Yes. And as the best provider of care and services for isolated older people and those living with dementia in Edinburgh, we offer a wonderful environment to learn.
What is the minimum age to be a volunteer?
You need to be a minimum of 16 years old. But we’re always happy to find a way to involve all who’re keen to help. In fact, we believe the younger you start volunteering, the more you can bring.
My organisation would like to support LifeCare.
We would be very pleased to talk to you about how you can support us, either as a team or as an individual.
