COVID-19 Measures

Measures to prevent spreading of Covid-19 at Life Care Centre will include:

  1. The numbers of attendees will be limited depending on the size of the hall used to ensure 2m distance and reduce close contact among attendees during classes/events. The use of small rooms (The Meeting Room, The Boardroom, St Bernard’s, The Dean) will not be permitted at first and will be revised when the rules will be eased by the authorities.
  2. One-way entry and exit system will be introduced to manage queues and limit numbers of attendees entering and exiting the venue at the same time (overall and in the congestion areas e.g. main corridor, stairs, lift).
  3. The use of the lift will be limited. The lift is only to be used by people with disabilities or other accessibility issues or for essential purposes. It is essential that the lift is accessed on a one person at a time basis.
  4. We will make sure classes are booked to allow enough time to ventilate the halls and detergent clean them between the classes as well as to minimize the number of people in the reception area.
  5. All attendees will need to wear face coverings in the common areas of the centre; they will not be necessary to be worn during classes (however, we recommend keeping them on at all times).
  6. A designated member of staff will be performing temperature screening of all attendees accessing the venue. Anyone with temperature 37.8C or greater will not be permitted at the centre.
  7. All users of the centre will be provided with hand sanitizer. Sanitiser stations will be displayed at the points of entry and exit and in the reception area; these will be no-touch activated.
  8. Screens will be installed at reception as well as café counter to create physical barrier between users/hirers and staff.
  9. Cash handling will not be permitted initially. The hirers will be encouraged to use contactless or cashless payments. Classes should be booked with organisers who will be responsible for arranging pre-payments.
  10. Life Care staff will be making sure common areas are disinfected regularly to maintain hygiene.
  • The rooms/halls will be aired and disinfected with a fogger after each class.
  • All the table tops and other flat surfaces will be disinfected after each class.
  • All the surfaces in the common areas (main corridor, staircase, lift, toilets etc.) will be cleaned regularly as well.
  1. The toilets will be permitted to use on a one-person at a time basis. All toilets will be equipped with bactericidal hand wash to wash their hands.
  2. The Centre as a venue is responsible for maintaining records of staff, customer and visitor to support NHS Test and Protect.

The Centre will be using a GDPR compliant mobile application called Promotigo Guest Visit to securely store and compliantly provide your guest data to NHS Test & Trace and register all the users in accordance with the government’s COVID-19 guidelines. All hirers and customers will be asked to scan QR code to make sure track and trace information is collected from all attendees.

This information will be stored by Promotigo Guest Visit in case of an outbreak of the virus to be passed on to NHS.

Test and Protect, Scotland’s approach to implementing the ‘test, trace, isolate, support strategy’, is a public health measure designed to break chains of transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

As part of this you will be asked to self-isolate at home for 10 days if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or you have tested positive for it.

People who have been in close contact with someone found to have Covid-19 are now being traced and asked to self-isolate for a fortnight.

The symptoms of COVID-19 are new:

continuous cough

fever/high temperature (37.8C or greater)

loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste (anosmia)

If you develop any of these symptoms, contact the NHS to arrange to be tested. Do this online at NHS Inform, or call 0800 028 2816. We ask all the hirers and users to refrain from coming to classes of events if they develop any of the above COVID-19 symptoms.
